2021 Event Calendar

Here's what you can look forward to happening this year!

As you can see, some things are still up in the air. Some dates may shift around a little as the year progresses.
Make sure to keep an eye on the spreadsheet as the year goes on, if these events interest you.

Since this is the first time we're doing this, I'll clarify some eyebrow-raisers:
Undecided Mini-Contest
This encompasses any type of contest that isn't a regularly occuring one. This could be a music contest, themed contest, world map contest or whatever else seems like a fun idea. There are two of these. We're still considering whether or not the second one should happen before or after the Chocolate Contest.

Vanilla + Chocolate
These are the main contests. We've had one or the other in past years quite regularly, but this year we're aiming for both! Vanilla contests restrict you to only the things you can do in the editor. So no custom elements (except for music). Chocolate contests are the opposite. Here, anything goes!

Slight change of plans: Due to low availability on my part next month, the world festival has been replaced by a public judge audition for the upcoming chocolate contest that will be happening in july.
More details will follow in the last week of may.

Unfortunately, it's looking more and more like we overscoped a little last december when we devised this list. The Spriting Workshop has been taken off the list for now to give us a little more breathing room. It may return at a later time, but perhaps not this year. Sorry about that!

Did some more reshuffling as contest schedules all around the world have shifted back and forth...
To give a bit of breather after the chocolate contest and to not have it overlap too much with MAGL4, which is happening over on Talkhaus soon (https://talkhaus.raocow.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=20093 ), the Undecided Mini Contest 2 has been pushed back a little - from the start of October, to starting sometime in October-November and finishing within a few weeks after.

The Secret Santa has also been taken off the list for noooow, as I haven't actually heard any updates on the concept since it was first brought up as an idea. If someone in the community has an idea for an event they want to host throughout December, please let us know though and we'll try and help with that!
