Welcome!
to the first contest of 2021. As you might have seen on the
calendar, we will hold a contest in February. This is that one. But what is it?
Similarly to the Mystery Contest, this one will be a hidden theme contest, so I cannot go into details on what exactly it will be about. I can reveal a bit about what it'll be
like, however.
The contest will run from February 5th 6PM GMT to February 28th 6PM GMT and will get its own subforum for submissions, beta testing and fan-judging. If that's all the info you needed, I hope to be seeing you then! But for the others, here's what you can expect:
AWARDS
There will be two kinds of awards: Medals (akin to the Mystery Contest userbar medals) and Badges (for participation or placing high in the competition). If a badge system is added to the forum down the road, the latter will retroactively become available on profiles.
TEAMWORK ALLOWED
You can form teams of 2 people, so if you wanna do a little bit of brainstorming ahead of time, gather round with a friend and see if they're also interested in participating when the contest starts on February 5th.
JUDGING SPOTS STILL OPEN
If you are interested in judging the contest, please send an
application within the next two weeks (deadline for judge signups for this contest: January 31st). To be clear, we already have enough judges for a roster, but we would prefer people to judge that haven't judged the last big contest (CCX1). If you are available in early March and interested, make sure to apply for judging. Hint for the theme I guess:
Don't worry, you won't have to know any kaizo tricks to be able to judge this contest.
EARLY SIGNUPS
If you want to get a notification when the contest goes up, you can express your interest in joining by leaving a reply detailing as such. Just like with the Mystery Contest, I will ping everyone interested when the contest begins proper.
WHAT SHOULD I DO UNTIL THEN? I'M BORED!
Feel free to flex your design muscles ahead of time by participating in the
SLAM Bowser's Castle Collab!
That's all for now. Stay tuned!
