I could've entirely copy and paste every block in my levels and change them into the style they were in.
Of course, pretty sure that that would've exploded the block count debugger.
I talked to ShadowStarX about doing an tiebreaker and it's based on which level I personally liked more, so here's the unofficial tiebreaker for this episode. This tie-breaker is unofficial.
Crossover Challenge gets 25th while The Mushroom Archives gets 24th since I'm willing to actually beat the 2nd one.
Frozentrepid gets 13th while Pokeys gets 12th since the first level is way too cluttered that it takes multiple play throughs before one can actually find it enjoyable. Also pokeys has a much more focused design but it still has its own issues.
Mouser's Mansion I personally had more fun with but it's getting 5th and Futuristic Sand Station is getting 4th. The reasoning for this is because of the fact that in mansion level there's 3 star coins that I think the author doesn't want optional and it looks like an oversight that it is. Under the assumption, the author intent isn't to have these star coins optional, this level is worse because two of the star coins require hitting two random invisible blocks with no indication. Thus, to fully beat this level, you have to encounter unfair and unfun design. Otherwise, I think this level would have 4th place.
I'd say the pokey level is a lot harder to beat than Frozentrepid, in fact I couldn't beat it and thought it's completely impossible.
It's a kaizo level, just because it's a kaizo level doesn't make it a bad level. Just because a level is hard or difficult doesn't make it a badly designed level. Please stop thinking this way. It's not the best kaizo level ever but it's a lot less visually messy than Frozentrepid. The visuals in frozentrepid impact the gameplay to a degree that its becomes often confusing where to go on a first playthrough and that's not good design.
If frozentrepid was less visually distracting and didn't have the issue that it felt super cluttered, then it would be above pokeys.
I do have a bit of experience watching Kaizo levels. I would like to see a video of how to get through this level because, as I said, there were spots that I deemed really impossible.
And even then, I hope this level is not mandatory in the contest episode bc, as you agree, it's a really really hard level.

Here's the video: Also it doesn't matter since you have access to all the powerups in the starting hub and a leaf and hammer suit from it would probably allow you to bypass the level.

Oh, thank you, that'll come in handy for when I get stressed during a level in this contest. ^^"
I think contests with no custom gfx really have to be creative, so this idea is genius. I think more contests like this should be held. I also appreciate the 1.3 and 2.0 compatibility
