@TakeTheL08: You already figured that this doesn't work. This is just a climbable tile that you place directly in the level. If you want a growing vine from a "?" block, you need a vine head, which is not in the editor in SMB1 style, so you need custom graphics.

How many posts do you need to rank up to LUIGI???

Added in 3 minutes 7 seconds:
It doesnt :(

Added in 2 minutes 20 seconds:
And please help me with SMB1 2-1

Added in 16 seconds:
I mean the sky area

Luigi rank is too many posts to acquire within a short time (4,500). It takes at least about three years. Please don't think of making pointless posts just to climb the ranks.
Also Edit button exists so you don't have to create long sequences of "added in ...".

You can also use this thread for quick questions that are just about the level designer.

I have another idea for SMBX2 patch 4 beta 2:
How about triggers that, when entered in a certain direction, showed a message, like NSMBUD and stuff.

Patches are only meant to fix bugs and glitches, not really to add new stuff. Any new suggestions can be applied in the full release earliest (there won't be a Beta 5).

I mean, general player-pass through blocks will probably be added in patch 2, since they've been implemented into the game.

FYI, multiplayer might be a little unfinished for some of ya'll, but it's in BETA. Game's dope

The addition of the SMBX Mario Challenge always reminds me of the challenge modes in every Super Mario Maker game. CAN'T STOP PLAYING :D

That's what it says on the blog.
As of the new system, this version is 2.0.0.b4, and the next major release will be 2.0.0. That’s right: the full release of the engine. There will be no Beta 5.

Put it in the battle folder in another version that has battle mode in it, or create the folder in SMBX2, but bear in mind that the reason battle has been removed is because multiplayer is currently broken in SMBX2.

bear in mind that it will probably take another indefinitely large amount of time (several months, maybe even a year or two, who knows) until we reach that point. The most important task for the next release is improving the new characters.

A minor nitpick, but:
Image

What's happening here: A layer with two Boo circles moves right for 1.1 seconds, then left for 1.1 seconds. A Boo snake repeatedly damages the player, and the player is set to big again with a powerup filter. The top Boo circle moves out of alignment with the layer further every time the player takes a hit.

Importantly, the top Boo circle is placed first, then the Boo snake, then the bottom Boo circle.

This is happening because the first Boo circle in the array has its position updated at onTick, then the Boo snake's tail damages the player with player:harm(), also at onTick, changing the player's animation state to one that requires layers to freeze, then the second Boo circle is updated taking the frozen layer into account. The layers are updated after onTick and so the block is aligned with the second circle.

Ideally I'd think the best solution would be to have multiple events at different parts of the game loop and separate out the parts of its AI, updating its layer speed related position at UpdateLayers, damaging the player at UpdatePlayer and doing everything else at UpdateNPCs, but failing that, it might be better to just damage the player at onTickEndNPC.

I know this is pretty selfish for me to say, but is there a direct download link to the beta? My block on the computer keeps tagging the website SMBX2 hosts as "Spyware / Malware Sources" and it's always preventing me from getting the game for myself.

I would highly apperciate it if you were to have a seperate link to the game, thanks for reading.

There is a mirror on the website if you're struggling, though you can just whitelist the website.

As much as that sounds helpful, I can't do it unfortunately, as I have no idea what the password for the website blocker is.
Trust me, I tried in the past.

Here's the MEGA Link if that helps.
Also after the download, you need to get the installer past your antivirus. If you have Windows Defender, it should allow you to make an exception for it.

Hey, thanks! That sentence about the antivirus part concerns me a bit, but hopefully it'll work.

Extra settings default values that are floats appear to be converted to integers when the game loads them. Say your default value is supposed to be 0.1 and you don't modify it in the editor, the game will load it as 0. This only applies to the default values loaded from the .json file. If you change it in the editor and change it back to 0.1, then save, it will load the saved value correctly from the .lvlx file.
