In exactly the same way it worked on you - by suggesting that using SMBX2 might make them vulnerable to this fake version, and thus encouraging you not to use SMBX2.
I can't script and still it doesn't ruin my smbx experience. Sometimes it just is that people are happy with what they got until something cooler or better comes around.
Though I must say experimenting with custom npc codes for 38A is really fun!
It's not going to be stickied. The discussion on this thread highlights its flaws, stickying it would imply that the first post had any sort of meaningful content in it which it really doesn't.
