Help with editing 'text' and 'spare item' sprites

Someone might have already asked this, but whenever I try to search for it, nothing shows up.
So, i'm just wanting to edit certain sprites that won't appear in the 'graphics' folder (I.E, the spare item box from SMW, the text boxes, and the font used for the text.) Is there any way i can edit all of this without using something like lua? Thanks!

There's a hardcoded folder if you're using SMBX2. Edit those, but make sure the images have their original sizes.

It's also possible to modify the sprites in previous versions without Lunalua, but it's complex and you're probably better off installing SMBX2 or downloading Lunalua.
