The Great SMBX38A Level Contest III (The Finale?)

(I do realize almost nobody here uses SMBX38A anymore but I gotta get the word out somehow)

Alright, so it's that time again. Another level contest for the SMBX38A engine. Will this be the last one? Only time will tell. But regardless of that, it is time to make your levels to be judged by our panel (myself, KoopsAkimoto, and Greencat) to see who is truly the best level designer. But before you launch that .exe file once more, here are a few rules you should follow, if you don't want to lose points or be disqualified. (Before you ask, yes. I am the official host this time, Yoshi gave me permission to do so)

Rules

• The level must be playable and completable using SMBX 38A. The level will be judged using version 1.4.4 Patch 2. The level will be disqualified if it is not compatible with SMBX 38A.
  No encrypted levels are allowed. The level will be disqualified if the level is encrypted.
  You can only submit one level. If more than one level is submitted, one level will be chosen to be judged.
  Each level must have minimum one SMB3 star. No other level exit is allowed. However, an additional star (SMB3 or SMW) is allowed.
  The HUDset command is banned. You may use Texts and Bitmaps instead.
  Judges ARE allowed to submit levels, but they won't be judging their own levels. We will have an additional fourth judge for those levels.
  All levels will be anonymous, with the creator not being revealed to the judges until after the judging has ended.

How to Submit
The level must be submitted in a zip file.

The music and the sound effects must be in the same folder as the level. Names for sound and music files must start with the level's name.

Inside the data folder, place all of the custom graphics. You may also include a file called "_notes.txt" for credits and specifications for the level (level must be played with X or Y character, for example)

Penalties

• You will lose 1 point if any of these things are found in your level:
  The level has an level exit other than an SMB3 Star (you can make it look like whatever you want, but the NPC that ends the level must be NPC-97.
  The HUDset command is used.
  The files aren't in the right format.
  If a level is submitted late, then you will lose 0.5 points for every day late it is (come on, you have 2 months to do this one).

I could join. It's a little probability since I've never made a level with 1.4. I know all the things people say about the bugs, the physics and the developer, but I think this alternative SMBX deserves a chance and I'm pretty curious to produce something with that.

Well if you need help with the 1.4's editor or how to do certain stuff there like events , you can just ask in the 38A discord server because if you really want to make a level , then i will be willing to help you learn how to use 1.4 for the time being.

I'm wondering why placing the wrong exit point is an instant 1 point deduction. That rule tells me that either there will be an episode and the host is too lazy to fix up the exits himself, or that the ruleset is partially copied from other contests without really putting much thought into why that rule originally existed (even if that reason back then was just the first possible explanation).
The way I see it it's the contest host's job to make sure submissions are playable for the judges and to give everyone an equal chance at winning. There WILL be minor rulebreaks like missing exits or misplaced start points in every contest and punishing that is pretty dang harsh I think.

Was thinking of joining the contest originally since I never made a level in 1.4.4 before but unfortunately I was busy with exams so I had to make a pass on it. If there is another 1.4.4 contest and I'm not busy I will probably make a level for it if there is time left.

So i spoke with Mario Kirby. He is going to reveal the results at 30-th this month (finally after 5 months of waiting) AND i got the rights to make an episode form of the contest, i also will be asking yoshi021 for the rights of the other 2 contest episodes so i can do a bundle type of episode which will contain all of the contest levels with way better hub than every other contest before it and a lot of new bosses, minigames and more!
