It would be nice if we could lock topics if they are our property. Why do not add that feature?

I don't see any benefit to this.

The main point of locking topics is to prevent further discussion on topics that are not following the rules (such as forum games, etc.). Many users would end up locking their topics for a variety of poor reasons, such as getting one response on their Help and Support topic and thinking that they have an answer so no one else needs to speak on the matter, while the answer could not even be correct, or discussion that may provide criticism to their content that they don't like so they just impulsively shut it down, besides other possible issues

Maybe they could have a button that sends a request to an admin, then they could lock/block it without say, PMs to admins or ect.
Admins could have a little side menu in their UCPs, that says: "Block Requests" and once you click you see the user that sent it and why..
Also sort able with a drop down menu and a user search! Well, at least I imagine if this was a feature, this is how I think it would be like...

How is that any different whatsoever--a button that sends a message to an admin vs. sending a message to an admin. You're completely missing the point. We don't take topic lock requests and please read my previous post as to why

A button that sends requests, not messages.
But oh well.

Can you explain how a request is different from a message?

The person sending it doesn't talk to you; It just says:
Lock request: (name of topic) from (username)
Not a message.

Literally by definition...a message. That's no different whatsoever and not only that but it gives no reason or explanation whatsoever so it'd be even worse

whether such a request is sent through PM or through something similar to the report button doesn't matter, and these requests are usually nowhere constructive.
