History
First of all, way back in 2013 I made and failed to create a Smbx episode titled as "Mario and Luigi in the Bean Kingdom". I only finished 4 levels and thanks to a computer disaster, it was all deleted. This is the only remnant left of it: A single video of the first level recorded by Bossedit (the level was called Kickback Coastline). At the same time also, I made and failled yet another project called "Toad and the Other Hero", though I cancelled this one due to lack of interest. Fast forward even farther to 2016, where I made another Toad-themed episode called "Toad's Curse" viewtopic.php?f=34&t=16209, and because of my complete shit luck my computer was destroyed midway through the creation of the 2nd world. Now here we are, the year is 2017 and I have made it my fucking job to finally complete at least one goddamn episode.

What is Toadin's Curse: Redux?
Toadin's Curse is the frankenstein project of all my cancelled project's ideas/levels being thrown into a heavy mosh pit. Think similarly to the "Princess Cliche" where you travel around the world collecting stars.

What are the requirements?
Literally all you need is 1.3 and nothing else. I want this project to have pre-luna/1.4/2.0 feel to it.

The Totally Amazing and Not Half-Assed Story

Taking place during the events of Mario Odyssey. Toadin is just your regular day-to-day Toad who's just looking to get by. Too bad for him though, because a mysterious being has decided to curse the poor fellow. Toadin's curse causes him to lose the keys to his house! The mysterious figure tells Toadin to collect a lot of stars, like huge amount of stars if he ever wants to get his house back. Aided by two talking boxes, Toadin sets out on his quest.
Thats the basic jist of it. However! Every world will have it's own mini-story (similarly to Paper Mario) going on it.
Worlds

World 1: Lakeside Utopia Chapter Title: "A Utopian Dystopia"
Story: Despite what this world is called, it's far from an actual utopia. Pollution, criminals, eco-terrorists, evil shy guy gangs, boom booms and corrupt factory workers all run amok throughout the lake. Toadin, being the unlucky man he his, is immediately thrusted into their crazy world. Meanwhile, the mysterious "Toader" seems to be the cause of everything....
World 1 is meant to be a mostly easy/starter world, most levels are linear with barely any secret stars hidden in it.
World 2:Luigi Resort Chapter Title: "L is for Loser"
Story: After passing the so-called "Utopia", Toadin enters Luigi Resort! Too bad the forces of Wart's army is slowly taking it over. Toadin finds out that Luigi is completely incompetent at his job, leading Luigi to hire him as the "Temporary Mario".
World3 (Part One): Mushroom Outskirts Chapter Title: "Fury of the Foliage"
Story: On their way to the Mushroom Kingdom, Toadin and co. find out that a massive forest has mysteriously grown out of nowhere! The sprawling forest has unfortunately blocked any route to the Mushroom Kingdom. Toadin (reluctantly) decides to find out the cause of this and how to stop it.
World 3 (Part Two):Mushroom Kingdom Chapter Title: "The Mushroom Legends"
Story: Peach has been kidnapped, luckily like always Mario is already out to save her. In the meantime, Daisy has taken temporary control over the land, and has enlisted Toadin to do some quests in exchange for some stars. Little do both of them know that a revolution is forming against them...
World 4:??? Chapter Title: "Challenger #876"
Story: Toadin and his friend's journey takes a massive detour when FOB is captured by the Royal King of "???". Toadin must take part in his utterly sadistic challenges if he wants to see FOB ever again.
World 5: Incan Iceway Chapter Title: "Toados" The Stars of Fate
Story: During another regular star-collecting day, the mayor of a small snowy town asks Toadin for his help. The mayor's children has been kidnapped by a malevolent demigod named "Toados". Toadin has to travel to the "Snowflake World" and infiltrate the demigod's castle if he wants to rescue the children. Toadin is not super into this quest.
World 6: Cascade Cliffs Chapter Title: Hurricane Luigi
Story: Toadin and co. have reached Cascade Cliffs in search of more stars. Unfortunately a massive hurricane dubbed as "Hurricane Luigi" is about to strike the mountain. Though something seems wrong about the hurricane, causing Toadin and co. to join forces with Luigi.

Meet the main characters!

Toadin: The main character of the game, an unfortunate toad who wants to live a normal life, though it's quite obvious that destiny would like another word with that...
The "Mysterious" Being: The character that stole Toadin's house keys. For some reason he wants Toadin to collect all the stars.
EDGY OPINION BOX / EOB: One of two blocks that "aid" Toadin in his journey. A foulmouthed, sarcastic and incredibly rude block.
Friendly Opinion Box / FOB: The other block that actually aids Toadin. A nice, calm, and rational block that always seems to argue with EOB.

Here's a suggestion: try backing up your project externally, so a computer disaster won't cancel the project.

Those chimneys in the second screenshot are poorly resized and look really bad, I'd recommend using a diffrent graphic. Looks pretty good otherwise.

Hey guys quick update:
- I finished most of Lakeside Utopia sans the final dungeon + a few cutscenes.
- Luigi Resort is more than 1/4 finished but it's *probably* going to be a short world/chapter, I originally planned it to have 10 levels but I shortened it to 6. Reasons for that include: more focused plot, no filler-ish levels and I want quality over quantity with this one.
- Mushroom Kingom is *probably* going to be the biggest world/chapter with somewhere arond 9-13 levels (towns/secret levels included)/
- No screenshots this time! Sorry!

Status Update:
- Luigi Resort is still in the works
- Development on Mushroom Kingdom / Outskirts has started, I already finished the first level called "Kuribo Kounty".
- I actually made my own custom tileset for a world that I have yet to reveal (see the last screenshot!).

I think it'd look better if the letters on the top of the logo were all the same type, maybe like the first letter's type.

I'll take that under consideration, I was trying to match the coloring scheme of the 3 main characters for each letter but I can see how it clashes a little. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks. I'm doing fine, I've just been busy wit school work / studying. So for now, the project is on hiatus until later on
