Friend/Foe feature is very useful when you know how to use it

The "foe" feature can be a shot in the foot though, since it makes it harder for you to be involved with someone else's conversations on the forum but doesn't make it harder in any way for them to post in your topics and whatnot.

Well, back then in 2010 it was already said that it doesn't do anything. I've observed that long enough too. What can you actually do with it? (except for just making a nice list of people)

The friends list is just kinda like a contact book I guess - it makes it easier to find specific members.

Uploading of avatars and attachments has been disabled and all such files have been deleted. You'll need to reupload your avatars to an external site such as Imgur or TinyPic. Sorry for any inconvenience. Let me know if there are any issues with remote linking to avatars.

I attempted to send my avatar to both imgur and discord. Both of the times it said that the dimensions were not specified and when I put the dimensions the site said that the url was invalid. I tried that several times

That's what I was getting too. I've reenabled avatar uploading.

Uploading from your own PC was always recommendable because sites like Photobucket can go apeshit while uploading from a PC even survives the death of said PC.

Did the forums just go down for a moment or was that just me?

Yeah, they were down momentarily. Sorry about that! The vast majority, if not all, of uploaded avatars should be restored now.

Those screenshots were meant to be used for a new SMBX2-related section or potential homepage redesign of the website. However, I'm no longer planning on doing either of those things, so there's an overwhelmingly good chance they won't end up being used. Sorry.

So, any ideas on what the future will hold for SMBX?
Will SMBX get shut down by Nintendo next year?
Will Beta 4 get released next year?
Will SMBX 3 ever be a thing, where people could possibly work on levels together (like a collaboration project)?
We'll find out next year.

You can already do that with the legacy editor (Although it's buggy as hell), but it would be cool to see in PGE.

if it is, it will most likely be marked by a switch to the Moondust engine

I don't know what that is, is it better than PGE?

At this point I doubt it, as 2018 will mark 7 years since the original takedown.

As a newcomer from this year, I am unaware of that event. What happened 7 years ago?
