Any idea how to do these balancing platforms? What i want is, when the player stands on one side, that goes down, and the other side goes up. Based on the lifts from the NSMB games. How do i do that?
You would need some LunaLua.

On another note, does anyone know when the SMBX Level Contest UK will take place in 2018? If that doesn't exist then it should, because i'm not in Japan.
Currently i can only see things like SMBX level contest Japan and, since this is an English Forum, realistically there should be a contest for UK people like myself to try out. Or even a Europe contest or maybe Global. (I'm not talking about smaller contests that anyone can sign up to, i'm looking for an official contest for UK similar to the Japan one). Maybe 2018 should be the year to start the SMBX Global Level Contest? Just an idea, but could work well.

The Level Contest Japan was just hosted by a guy from Japan; it wasn't exclusively for Japanese people. I mean, the actual episode wasn't even made by Japanese people!

What HenryRichard mentioned is 100% the case. The Community Contests which are hosted periodically (most recently the SCC) are open to anyone and so are all other contests. There's no discrimination against where you come from and personally I think contests for people only from a certain area are pointless since you're excluding a ton of people and there probably aren't enough SMBX players willing to join a contest and active as well from the UK, Japan, etc. to host a contest like that

So i'm quite good at level design now, but the one theme i still struggle with is the Airship. I just cannot get the basic shape of the ship down - the actual contents of the airship is easy to come up with, but the actual ship shape is what i find tricky. Any tips?

Play other airship levels and consider making topics for issues like this outside of the SMBX2 topic

Also how is one supposde to verify if you are from the country the contest was made for? You do have the locations thread and your location in your profile, but there is no guarantee that everyone is being truthful about it. But contests that only allow people from certain places in the world are inherently bullshit anyway, so there is no reason to attempt to solve problems associated with them that would ultimately be solved by not doing such contests all togeter.

Given where I live (well, call home anyway) isn't even on Earth...

Anyway...

Wow. I'm glad that PGE and SMBX have spc support, because those files are really easy to just copy over.

I added a total of 17 pieces to the base configuration, all from RPG Tsukuru 2.

I am going to work on adding Mega Man related stuffs soon.

So basically, i would be able to join any contest such as MAGLX or the Level Contest Japan or even Super Community Contest (all 2018)? I actually thought location was required to be the one suggested in the title.

I got very confused there... adding new songs to base is possible? Or do you mean "replaced 17 tracks on my copy with songs from this game"?
The post sounds like you added them to the official branch which I just checked... you didn't. Regardless I got bamboozled.

Contests have never been region locked and 2 of the 3 you listed don't even have a suggested location. Only like 4 out of the ~40 people in Level Contest Japan were actually from Japan, as a sidenote.

Oh...

Ha ha ha ha ha...

Yes, it can be done. I actually explained how on the previous page I believe.

If anyone wished, I could zip up the music additions and modded music.ini files and upload them, of course, these would overwrite the current music.ini files with the new ones (so do back up the originals first).

You shouldn't be adding things to basegame though as I mentioned previously. Just use them as needed as custom music so if you want to share your stuff others can play it

On the topic of custom music:
It seems that it isn't required to make a music.ini file for levels, as they work no matter how or when i open the levels.
But when using custom music on world maps, the music is reset to "Custom" or Music-17 unmodified everytime i reload the map. This doesn't happen for my levels. Do you need to create a music.ini file for 2.0 world maps? What about levels, they seem to work fine either way.
What i mean is, for levels, you can simply put the music files into a custom file of the same name. But the music resets to silence on world maps when reloading it.

The custom map music is a PGE thing. It does not work in SMBX.

To get custom world map music you have to replace one of the default music tracks using music.ini

Of course.

This is mainly an experiment anyway. The one thing I wasn't looking to do was add an episode folder when I'm not currently working on one.

Plus, having this added to the main dropdown list is very useful. Well, I think so anyway...

Or, one could just add to it...

Have you tested them in the actual game? Sure they show up in the editor but then I tested it in the game and was met with silence.

Does not work, and just adds inconvenience to the player if it did work.

This is exactly the case - I tried it like two months ago.

Given I cannot get the game to run (my hardware is to blame), I can not test the in-game part.
