floating munchers aren't essential to kaizo levels. Kaizo just means that a level is very difficult and every element is precisely set up to trick/kill the player. Definitions of kaizo vary though. Some people use the term specifically to describe unfair levels.

I know, but by that I mean who design kaizo seriously?
Aanyways. Beat that level finally. 120 deaths. The bullet bill at the end is evil. Tried to cheese that part because it's very precise (didn't work).
Very slow-paced kaizo. Would personally class it as entry-level kaizo because some of the obstacles are rather easy to overcome. Would've wished for a suicide muncher at the shell part in the beginning though. Also got softlocked at the blue switch once due to own stupidity.

Many people work hard to make good Kaizo levels. I just hosted a Kaizo Level Contest recently that produced some great levels and there are many high quality Kaizo hacks, like Banzai Mario World
