M64 Castle Garden Battle Level

Postby yoshiegg » Fri May 27, 2016 1:46 pm

Here's my first battle level with SMB3-like structure and NSMB/M64 graphics.
Credits:Lucas Coutiere with SMB PC2 for the M64 tree gfx and braineat with NSMBX Revolution for several cgfx.

Wow. This looks more terrible than what 100 dying birds sound like.

What should be improved in your opinion because what you wrote helps me nothing because it isn't very constructive.

Here is 3 in 1:
Image

- Coins with black background
- Clash...
- The tree's leaves look absolutely... weird to say at least.

coins:Ok.Will fix it
Clash:I will do my best with getting rid of the NSMB graphics, btw: Do you know a good source for M64 gfx?
Trees:I want to make trees climbable like in M64 so I put a vine there (actually wanted to make it transparent but got confused)-> made it grey->leaves darker: will need to find a solution for this

Thanks for feedback and stay tuned for updates

Don't use NSMB or SM64 graphics unless you plan to make a level that uses only NSMB or SM64 graphics. They clash terribily with SMBX's graphics.

I would suggest to redo the entire level. They way you used the tiles doesn't look good at all. Neither do the floating ones.

When giving feedback, no matter how bad the level is, rude comments like this are by no means acceptable

This isn't helpful for me or any editor of a level as it isn't very constructive. Remember that and I will be glad to hear what I need to fix in your opinion.

Update:I'm about to change the enemy style into 64.After that,I ' ll try to Do the same with items and Post New Screenshots.
