SMBX 2.0 is the next version of SMBX, coming after 1.3.0.1. Anything else is not supported.
But why is SMBX 1.3.0.1 supported if it isn't official either? It's not like it was made by the original developer.

Did Redigit give permission to make 1.3.0.1 ? If yes, I think that it is totally official. Anyway, nobody cares about if it is official or no, what really matters is the fun!

Keep in mind that Joey is using "official" in context of this forum. Seeing how he's the creator of this forum, there's not much to argue here.

But who is the owner of SMBX game now? Redigit? Joey? Horikawa? The forum? Everyone? This is a little confusing

And then there's 2.1, 2.2, ...
Nope! It's deprecated completely now mwahahahahahahaha. We used magic. The next beta release won't have the legacy editor visible by default (you'll still be able to use it via some mechanism that I haven't got figured out completely yet).
The mechanism better not be 100 algebra questions.

I never said the word "official" in my post.
There are no SMBX builds that are supported here besides 1.3.0.1 (and, soon, 2.0). We obviously welcome and support extensions like LunaLua and CinematX, but those will not be integrated until 2.0.
To directly answer your question, Prado: SMBX was originally developed by Redigit, is currently developed by Horikawa Otane along with Kevsoft/Wohlstand/Rednexala/some others who will be credited in 2.0's release, and is managed by myself with help from the SuperMarioBrosX.org staff.

I wasn't talking about the development of SMBX 2.0 - I meant the SMBX image as a whole, which I've been working on building up for the past two years.

Yeah, as Horikawa said, she leads the development of 2.0 and has poured many hours into making this project what it is (along with her talented development team). I'm more of a point of contact for SMBX as a general entity, including its online presence.

From what I can see anything that can be made in the 2.0 open beta can also be made in SMBX, so why can't we post levels made using it?

not quite, the 2.0 beta uses a lua version that isnt officially released it and it could be unstable and is therefore not officially supported yet.

ok, although does that mean when the full version does come out that levels made in the beta will be able to be released?

If you made levels with the beta, you should totally test them with the full release to test if the levels aren't broken in a way.

Yes, once 2.0 is released then you'll be able to post levels.
