What NPC would you replace with a Starman?

Depends on the level. Probably one of the Zelda or Metroid enemies, unless it was a Zelda or Metroid level.

Here's another idea, how about a heavy block or friendly NPC?
You could also have it replace the Zelda Heart Piece - I think it would be fair if Link gets a Starman instead of a heart when a Yoshi Egg or Kuribo Shoe hatches.

The sonic ring, as of now there is ABSOULTLY no way to use it without clash.
I mean, it's the ONLY sonic thing in the whole game!
It doesn't look good with anything!

Does that include the brown SMB3 paragoomba too?

I don't really mind that it has to be done that way, though. It's pretty improbable that you'd ever need all of the different paratroopa types in a single level.

It can be probably one of the NPCs that aren't usually implemented in SMBX... (293 to 300).

Actually I take that back, keep speculating. Just no promises from me yet. I think it's possible.
Is that because of the AI? It's really easy to make a starman AI, just do
NPC.speedX=NPC.direction*whatever speed you want
and
if NPC.touchingBlockBottom(I forget how that is typed exactly) then NPC.speedY=-the amount you want it to jump end
So if you are able to set it to any NPC, then one of the dummy NPCs.
