I have downloaded LunaDLL and SMBX 1.3.0.1, but have no idea actually how to get LunaDLL on SMBX 1.3.0.1.
For additional information, I have LunaDLL as a .dll file in the SMBX folder. I have tried to cut it and paste it on the level editor, but it didn't work obviously. Any help would be appreciated.

The LunaDLL download you used came with an smbx.exe file, right? If so, just replace the existing one with that. It sounds like you have the .dll file in the right place, though.
What you would do then is make a Notepad file called lunadll.txt and put it in the same folder as a level's graphics and NPC texts. The .lvl file must be just outside the folder for it to work, though (like how episodes are set up). A guide for what to put in the text file can be found here.

Yes, it did come with the smbx.exe file, but if I replace it with the other smbx.exe and I try to access the level editor it says the following:
The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

That's odd, just putting the two files in the SMBX root folder is all I had to do.
Unless I'm misinterpreting your wording, are you saying that you replaced the new EXE with the old one? Because you should be using the one that came with the LunaDLL download. If not, I'm not sure what else to tell you, as I haven't encountered any difficulties with it myself.

Okay, but do you know what MSVCP100.dll is?

I'm afraid I don't, I've never even seen that before. I did a search for it on my C drive and nothing came up, so it doesn't seem like I even have it. I have no idea why you'd need it if I don't.

Here, this is my SMBX folder:
Could you show me yours so I can compare what I need to delete/add?

Most of the differences look like nonessential things (demos.dmo is created by LunaDLL, so it wouldn't be that, and the rest is stuff that I made for my own use), but it looks like our uninstallers are different. Yours looks like 1.3's. I don't know if that matters, but did you only download LunaDLL, or did you also get 1.3.0.1 from here in addition? My uninstaller comes from the downloads on that page, so that's why I'm wondering.

Hmm. Apparently, I didn't download the .exe and just the .zip from that thread. Unless someone posts between here and my next post, I assume I'll just bump this and double post if it works for me. Thanks for your help, Chad.

Damn it, I downloaded the .exe and such, and still tried to play Super Luigi Speed Expedition, and it simply doesn't work. However, I can access the level editor now, thankfully.
Also, if LunaDLL actually was conveniently working for the level editor, could you show me where you would find it? Of course, I may be blind, but still, Luigi Expedition should work regardless of whether I can spot it or not. At this point, I'm getting desperate. Icez, I really would rather not install vc+++++ express considering my computer being really full, but as a last resort it's essential that I'll have to. Though, I would appreciate an answer from one's self first, particularly Chad since I've got this far with his advice; hopefully you have an idea.

I might be misunderstanding your question, but are you trying to find LunaDLL inside the editor itself? Because it's an external thing, similar to how NPC texts are used.
Also, now that you have 1.3.0.1, try putting back the .exe that was from the LunaDLL download, if you haven't already. The idea is to use the LunaDLL .exe alongside the 1.3.0.1 files. I don't know if you've already done that, but I can't think of what else could be wrong.

I never knew this.
However, how come when I try to play Luigi Expedition, it doesn't let me and I just automatically die when I attempt to test it in the editor? Is this because LunaDLL isn't working properly?
Also, I cut the rest of your quote off since I can't think of a reply to it, but I'll try what you recommended. Thanks again, Chad. Probably tomorrow I'll re-download LunaDLL and get the .exe from it, but won't it replace the original .exe I got from the 1.3.0.1 download? I am not a computer expert, so I don't know how this stuff works.

I have it set so that invisible lava kills you at the doors if you try to play it without LunaDLL, to prevent people from cheating and not using the timer (I set up a LunaDLL event to remove the lava when the levels start).
Yeah, replacing the original .exe is what you want to do. The .exe that comes with the LunaDLL download is in fact 1.3.0.1's exe, just a separate version that's compatible with LunaDLL. That means you were trying to run a version of 1.3.0.1 with 1.3 files before, which would explain why you were having problems. This time everything will be 1.3.0.1, so it should work.

Damn, I did what you said and replaced the original .exe, and yet LunaDLL is still not wanting to cooperate in the level editor; the options are getting slimmer and slimmer. Should I put LunaDLL in the desktop? And do you have any ideas? Should I show you my SMBX folder again?

Hmm luna dll has to be in the main folder with the exe I seen that in the screen, the only thing I can think of is that the lava hide event is triggered during the level load which might explain why you keep dying in the editor. I am overly sure if the level load command function works in the editor or the main game if you can get into the main game try it there, if it works then there is your problem.

There is no main folder with the .exe. Do I make one? If so, what do I name it? smbx.exe?

Don't have to rename anything its just a matter of copying and pasting the new smbx over the old one, the folder name where smbx is has no effect on if lunadll is working or not.

Regarding the above post about downloading .zip files with both lunadll AND smbx.exe, the .exe will when run vanish from the directory and I get an error message?!
Never seen that happen before when running a program, I wouldn't even think it possible. I tried a couple of different packages with these files and it always does the same thing.
