Does SMBX work on the original Xbox, and does it need a emulator?

Not that I'm aware of. I know someone ages ago was able to make it run on the Wii, but I can't recall if that was actually fake or not. If my memory serves me well, it was in fact legitimate. As far as the Xbox goes though, I'm afraid you might be out of luck.

I heard somewhere that the Xbox one runs windows 8.1, so maybe you could get it to run on one of those. But you'd probably have to install linux on the original Xbox to even get close.

You can use an Xbox joystick to play it on the computer anyway.

Maybe I should be more specific since I got a vague answer.

What operating systems are compatible with the game?

SMBX can work on Windows 98, but PC must have 512 and more RAM to be work. With LunaDLL will work on Windows XP and greater.

I guess its impossible to play SMBX on the xbox even with a emulator
since the Xbox only has 64MB of RAM.

Thanks Wohlstand and XerX for being helpful. :)

I got it to run on my ME computer with ~256MB but it never got past the loading screen. It spun and spun for hours, I just gave up.

PC is a very vague term especially when talking about specifications. When someone comes in, says they have a problem with their PC, and an OS isn't specified, it makes it very difficult to help them. And especially when talking about games, you can say a game runs on PC but if it's Windows only, that's a bit too vague.

It should run just fine on XP, Vista, 7, and 8.x.
