Joke Levels... as they aren't relevant to the main game what so ever.

For me, it would be auto-scroll or chase levels. Basically anything that inhibits free roam/play or restricts the player.

To me it depends if the level itself is big or not. And yeah, chase type Levels are also for me a annoying deal especially when you have to collect everything just for 100%ing the main SMBX Episode especially for the first time Players.

Come to think of it, this too for me, and of course back to the restrictions I was talking about earlier I forgot to mention time limits, not that that is a theme, unless you;re making a speed-run level like NSLU.

Tank levels are the most boring levels imaginable.

Search-themed levels. Pretty good in theory, but if you die, you have to start all over again.

Why? They are challenging to get through it with the exception of the scrolling part since it is in Bowser Land for the most time.

They're a flat ground with unimaginative shit coming your way at a ridiculously slow speed.

I don't like autoscroll levels, most of the time they aren't done right.

While tanks alone might be pretty bland, adding something to the sky in such levels can actually make them among some of the best levels.

Underwater levels are slow, so that's why I don't like them.

Do you hate my levels...
I hate joke levels, because Is stupid, without effort, bad design, and is fucking frustrating when a in a contest, a joke level get a better place than good-designed levels, with solid structure ( How happened in CC5 and CC7 -'- )
Ouch, only one joke level I liked, because have a good gimmicks, is the Valtteri's Bladder by ElTipsa.

Yeah, the best Tank-like level I've ever played would be the Air Force level from SMB3. While it was repetitive, it was definitely a level that set a benchmark in terms of skill.

I hate Super Mario Bros 2 levels for some reason, I think it's from bad experience of The Invasion 2's underground level of the same genre....

What makes you say there's no effort in joke levels? People actually do graphics for it and search up some fitting music. Yu can't take that out of your ass and use it like that. Also, a level with 0 effort would be just placing some blocks on the ground and having an exit right next to you, but not some level where somebody is actually trying to find good jokes / memes to entertain the community. I can agree with you there are joke levels without much effort, but there are some which re just great in terms of jokes and even in their own way of design. And if you think it's "fucking frustrating" when a joke level gets a better score than a serious level, there could only be two reason:
-the serious level is completely shit
-the joke level is better anyway
And nobody gives a fuck if you whine over it, just deal with it. Nothing will change.
I dislike vanilla levels, but there's no certain level style I actually hate.

If there still was a rep system I'd uprep you for this, mudkip.

Please elaborate. What if someone thinks outside the box with a theme, being something you don't consider "right", but is right in its own way?
