Some of you may remember this episode from way back in 2012, and if you do happen to have the full episode could you please send it to me. Basically I made this episode back in 2012, but I lost the full version ages ago and no-one seems to still have it. I do happen to have the original Beta 1 containing most of the first part of the island but that is it. Now, before anyone asks, yes Utopia is still in progress, this just happens to be the prequel and I think it would be fitting to remake it and release it before I finish Utopia. Most of the story has changed slightly to fit in Captain Toad and Toadette, mainly because they refer to this episode a bit in Utopia and the island itself is revisited slightly.
Here's the original Storyline:
On return from Bowser's Dark World in the time after SMB3, Mario and Luigi were shipwrecked in a storm. They noticed that only a small swim away was an ancient, forest-covered island. Both brothers decided to go in search of help only what they found was more trouble. The Koopalings had been washed up on the island after their airships went down when Mario and Luigi retrieved the wands of the Mushroom Worlds' Kings. Then to make matters worse, Bowser had travelled here to find his children and seek vengeance by forming a powerful army of prehistoric monsters found still livng on the island. Among these ageless monsters were the Reznor, a small group of fire-breathing dinosaurs that Bowser had re awoken. However with the help from the magic Albatoss Feathers, Mario and Luigi take to the land, sea and air to defeat Bowser once more. This is the Legend of the Ancient Island...
Here's the New Storyline:
On return from his latest expedition, Captain Toad and Toadette were shipwrecked in a storm. They noticed that their ship had run aground on a small reef and only a small distance away was an ancient, forest-covered island. The Captain decided that in the morning he, and Toadette would head off into the depths of the island to retrieve supplies to fix the ship. That night, Captain Toad noticed a sparkling light coming from a distant mountain peak, and he knew that treasure was to be found.
The next morning came and as the Captain awoke he noticed Toadette was gone... He searched the boat, but she was not there. He set out to the island and when he got to the edge of the forest, there on a branch, hung Toadette's red ascot. Captain Toad jumped into action as called upon his trusty brigade from the ship and they set off in search of Toadette and treasure!
Unfortunately, a group of ageless monsters encased in stone had been re-awoken by the strange light, the night before. These monsters were known to many of the natives as Reznor; evil creatures that spew fire and cause earthquakes by simply stomping the ground. The Captain, however, must take on these creatures with all his might and a magical cape he found on his most recent expedition...
Worlds:
There only one world here, and that is the Ancient Island, however it does have many areas to it, such as the Darkness and the Twin Forests, not to mention the magical realm of Stars...
Power-Ups:
Super Mushroom
1-Up Mushroom
Fire Flower
Magic Cape
Amethyst Flower
Super Pickaxe
Tanooki Suit

I'm definitely beta testing this, Holy crap!
All of the screens look colourful and alive, although the lava fortress cave could use some more enemies.

I was actually going to ask you if you wanted to Beta Test... but anyway... I'll add you now. The Lava Fortress aka Reznor's Ruins is the first fortress you'll come to. It mainly consists of Dry Bones, Swoopers and Thwomps, but I am working on some more enemies for the underground section that aren't default ones for a bit of variety.
Also, I should mention I've hidden all of the Levels and Paths on the World Map to make it more of a surprise, just in case anyone was wondering.

While the episode definitely looks superb, and I wouldn't mind beta testing it but I really shouldn't considering I have too much work to do, the only thing that really irks me is the custom power-ups, taking "Amethyst Flower" as an example. Does it work using LunaDLL/LunaLUA? If not, is it just a reskinned power-up?

Currently the Amethyst Flower is a re-skin of the Ice Flower which seals enemies in blocks of Amethyst/Ice re-skin. The Super Pickaxe is the same for the Hammer Suit at this point in time, but I might use DarkShade's Starman codes to make it more of an temporary invincibility item. Also if you do find any spare time and you would still like to Beta Test, there's a spot waiting for you.

Darkonius is telling me that I'm the most thorough beta tester he's ever had, so if this isn't too overly long I could try to find time to help you, I suppose.

Since I don't have the full episode anymore, I'll remake what was in Beta 1 and wing it with the other levels, since I can remember what a quite a few of them looked like. Depending on how far I decide to "wing it", it may be smaller than it was originally. I have already started to cut back levels that appear on the world map, which thankfully I still have and I've begun to apply them to the new map. Overall if I do a full recreation there will be roughly 100 levels, which excludes bonus games and warps, compared to the 120 odd that were in the original. If I happen to cut it back though I'll be aiming for no more than the usual 70-80. I guess it depends on how long you think is "overly long". But I'll keep you in mind in any case and send you the first Beta once it is complete and you can decide whether you'll be able to or not.

That's some amazing project here. The atmosphere, design and other things are colourful, interesting and awesome.
I'm gonna beta test it, too.

May I beta test (I will use Peach if allowed, then Link, then Mario, then Luigi, then Toad depending on allowed characters, that is my order!)
I like the world map a lot, and the Toad Coins look neat!
I also Video Beta-test if need be...

This project looks already great, and I really like that world map! Those cheep cheeps in that water in the 2nd screen are a bit strange, though.

I was gonna ask if I could beta-test, but looks like there's no room left for me.
Anyways, I'm certainly looking forward to this! I'm not a huge fan of the way the YI graphics mix with Deoxys' redrawn grass though, and the SMW wood level seems a bit odd, seeing as the 1x1 tiles have black on them, but the wider ones only have a black outline. Nonetheless, the design looks great, and that SMW cave-castle looks awesome!

Sure I'd be happy to add you to the list. As for playables, this episode will use Toad (Captain Toad) primarily for most levels, however, Peach (Toadette) will also be used for some levels. The Toad Coin was made by crazydev and you can find it plus the other e+ Coins in the Community GFX Pack. I'm not sure as of if I would need any video based beta testing, but it would be an extremely good idea to keep in mind. Thanks MECHDRAGON.

Thanks RudeGuy! I have to adjust the water transparency to be a little more clearer and put those Cheep Cheep as foreground=0.

Well, if any of my Beta testers do happen to have to stop for any reason, I'll let you know, if at that point you'd still like to Beta Test.
Thanks for the feedback too. So basically at this point in time, Deoxys' grass tileset is a place holder till I finish the YI Grass Tileset rip (YI World 1-5). As for the wood, I never really noticed it actually, I'll have to do something about that.

I can make a video to see exacty how I do as peach and only you would see it! I am best with peach and may be the best Peach player, So I can help with that field to! With my computer at 30gb free, all I can do is try though!

So, with a little work Stone Hollow has been transformed from this:
To this:
Also, I do realize the tileset doesn't join well in some places, but that also occurs in Yoshi's Island. I'm trying to find all of the tiles to prevent some of this from happening.

Beta 1 will basically be a remake of the original Beta 1, which was 21 levels including Bonus areas, warps etc., so probably about 14-15 playable levels all up. After that it is pretty much remaking levels from what I can remember of them. The first Beta shouldn't take too long to finish, but I don't want to rush it all the same. Most of the levels were rather average in terms of length, about 2-3mins long and of course with PGE I can make levels a lot faster now with the good old copy pasta buttons. At most I'll say it will take a month to complete Beta 1 since I already have a few levels finished.

SO much better. I hope you can fix the cutoff - I had to do that with a YI tileset once, and it's not exactly the easiest thing in the world.
