God Damn Brother

Postby Blake Izayoi » Sat Nov 29, 2014 7:33 am

I got an older brother with autism, and he keeps on hitting me and screaming at me!
Yet my parents never do anything!NOTHING!
What am I supposed to do?I really need support on this, and nobody else will give it.

Hm... my only advice is to completly ignore that guy that is keep hitting on you. Also, your parents are normally here to help you and take care of it and not just do "nothing" about the problems you have but I can't judge it completly since every parents are different of course. If it happens in a School or something, tell a teacher about it or someone who is capeable to stop this.

If it gets to a point where it's too much for you to handle, try talking to your parents again. If that doesn't work, get another family member involved to talk to your parents or your brother. And if all else fails, go to the police and let them sort it out.

I didn't read that your brother had autism, which means going to the police isn't the best decision.

Try talk to your brother. Make sure he is calm and in an environment where it's unlikely he'll kick off. Then try and explain to him, as calm and as simple as possible, why hitting you is bad, and that it makes you feel sad and that he should stop it.

Does he have learning support workers? Someone who cares for him when your parents aren't around? Maybe they can help give you advice.

tell him he'll surely fit in there.

in all seriousness, just try locking the door (if you have one, unlike me), that way he'll probably stay away from you. If your parents call you out because of that, then take advantage of that moment and try to discuss other solutions

Let me note some things my brother does.

1) Gets pissed off at video games easily and yells like he's watching a football game.
2) Is an ass for no reason, and doesn't care.
3) When is angry at someone else or feels like shit, he forces that feeling on to everyone who talk to him through his actions.
And get this, he's the youngest sibling in my family and I'M the one with autism. He also excuses me of being an asshole to him, yet he's the one treating others like shit.
-_-
WTF.

I can help you though. If he wants to fight/argue with you, just walk away from him and lock yourself in your bedroom. If he tries to break the door or still can enter the room from anywhere and he gets to the point of insanity by shouting death threats, contact you parent(s) ASAP. Ask your family to go to therapy, and see if some people can help him, and judging the way you typed you message, you order brother is lower functioning. Low functioning means they have A LOT of problems trying to understand the way reality works. I'm high functioning, so it's easier for me, but I still have difficulty with a few things.

I hope this helps you, doomoocy. Good luck.

I wasn't insulted tho, but that's probably because I'm high functioning as well

Reading how Yoshi approached low-functioning autism, I feel like a hard fact is better than a truth coated with sugar and flowers. Sometimes a blunt statement is better than a drawn-out evasion of the fact.

Yeah, I was harsh on that statement. Sometimes being brutally honest is the best way to go.
And believe when I say I have met a lot of low functioning autistic children (and I have met higher functioning autistic kids, and they are the nicest people ever. Except when you are trying to piss them off, then they are going to go f**king apeshit). Some kid was yelling "Salty pretzels" dragging it out when he said it. I chuckled to my self because I thought it was funny. 2 minutes later...the same kid punches me in my spine, more so in my lower back. This happen in my ending year in middle school.

Who? The people with high-functioning autism (that I know, and myself) are well aware that they perceive things differently than others.

Knux, he talking about the lower-functioning children with autism. It could offend them, which I'm sorry but it's the truth.
