Save point system? How original! How will it work? Will it call up the "Continue/Save and Continue/Save and Quit" window?

No LunaDLL will be used. In short, there will be save points in the levels (you can see one in the fourth screenshot) that you can enter. You will then be ported to the world map. However, you can not move in the world map, you can just save and port back to the level to continue adventuring. There will be multiple save points in each level and they will also be logically placed in the world map in a way that they follow the size of the levels.

So using this system, I guess the only thing retained in the levels after you enter them again will be collected stars, and what their death triggers?
So let me get this straight: there's several discrete sections of the game (levels) that you must go through in order, and nothing you do in one affects the other besides star count?

You are correct. However, the levels have been designed in a way that not much needs to be repeated if you die.

You can enter each level from many different directions/warps, which will result in you getting a power up that you previously could not in that level and advancing further. You could essentially say only the star count matters in the end, but it's not that simple in reality.

Will there probably not be much of the trademark "use your new skills at an old location" stuff the metroid games are known for, aside from again, the star doors?

And aside from various power ups like Fire Flower (which you can use to destroy the ice blocks). But there will be no more details on this stuff for now.

This is a good start, thank you. After checking your post history, I approve you as a level designer, welcome to the team! I'll send you more information in PM.
Note: I do not want anyone to go into slavery-mode, so more designers are still needed.

With the success of Super Mario Enigmatic, i don't have any doubt that this episode go make success too.
I love to make level to you, but i don't have any level posted in this forum.
Well, keep the good work, Reign!

Sent a PM to you, Healthymario.
Ice level has now been taken, these are left:
Mountains
Sky
Castle Yard
Snow
Temple
Palace
Factory
Thanks for the interest, Miles. Do you have a level posted anywhere else? I'm trying to get all the help I can, but it's a bit risky to go accepting every offer I get, it might lead to a disaster in the end.

Interesting project you have here; the new exploration system will surely make this project really different and fresh from the others. I have interest on helping you with a sky level, if that's okay with you. If you wish to see my work, the best thing I can offer you is the level I submitted to the Tower of Bias 6 Contest; Beanstalk Skies by Chris900J (If you wish to have a look at it, I'm afraid you'll have to download said episode...).

I'm assuming it'll be just as hard as Super Enigmatic World

The difficulty is not set in stone yet, however the style of this episode is completely different. The levels will have scrolling in them and there can't be as many death traps as in SME, as nobody will want to re-travel long distances countless times.
EDIT: Chris, approved and I'll send you a level base and more detailed instructions later today.

Can't you add more save points, and then people won't have to redo as much?

Yes, but there still won't be a save point in every screen, like in Enigmatic. There still needs to be a slight punishment if you die, otherwise there is no feel of danger in the game and it becomes uninteresting.
These levels left for potential designers:
Castle Yard
Snow
Temple
Palace
Factory

I find my self skilled in Ice, Cybernetic, Sky, and Castle levels! Even Weather based levels! I am also skilled at SMBX, so I would like to apply as a level creator and beta tester! Send me a PM and I will send you one of my levels that I only gave to a few people!

Unfortunately I have run into a run time error issue (division by zero) that I can't seem to fix no matter what I do.

So therefore the project is on hold until further notice. I've sent a PM to people who were designing levels for this, and at this point you are free to use the levels for other purposes.

You never gave me the theme, or graphics; so sorry! The run-time error! I would ask bossedit8 to see if he knows how to fix it!
