Sorry for editing this too much.

Hello everyone, I decided to start making a SMB1 style episode. This is my first one ever.

Featuring: 40 SMB1 Stages! The original was gonna be 999 stages but I scrapped the idea cause it's unrealistic lol.
320 Star Coins! (Subject to change because I can't make up my mind)
8 unique SMB1 worlds!

Also the story is nothing new or unique.

Star Coin system:
You can get a star coin by completing a task, which can be one of the following:
Getting all 5 yoshi coins
Collecting all regular coins
Completing the level within a time limit
Not hitting any blocks
Not collecting any coins

They are like side missions, just for those who want an extra challenge.

If you use the world map system that SMBX is most known for, you would run out of level tiles without using warps. (400 level tile limit)

I remember attempting to make a 9999 star episode in 1.3 which also ultimately ended in failure. If you can achieve this feat of making something fun that is this long, then it would be interesting to see.

Sorry, I'm new to everything about smbx except for playing episodes, which I started doing years ago
I'll just make a sequel if I want to make more then

Yeah I found it quite hilarious to read the original numbers and wondering if you accidentally put some zeroes too many :P

So I decided to make missions or sidequests you can complete for star coins, such as defeating all enemies, grabbing all coins, beating the level within a time limit, etc. What do you guys think of this concept? I just want some feedback.

Also please tell me if i'm posting too much. I don't want to break a rule.

I can't see it posted twice for some reason. Also development is gonna be paused for about 2 weeks in 3 days. And I might star working on another project at the same time because I have a different idea for another concept and I don't want to forget it lol. It's only gonna be 1 big level. Also I might be usy playing some episodes sometimes cause SMBX2 is one of my favorite games.

If you wonder why I am making this SMB1 only, it's because I'm not sure I can properly balance the usage of the 4 game styles. I feel like it's easier making a whole episode based on just 1 gamestyle (In this case, SMB1).

So.... I'm gonna make only 40 stages because:

1. I have an idea for a different project I'm going to do.
2. I still can't decide how to do this (srsly wtf is wrong with me)

Also I regret posting this cause it's cringe.

Anyway, thanks for the support, and I'm being serious.

It's a great choice to reduce the amount of levels for your project. Making a lot of levels for a first project isn't a great idea. You can later add levels you removed back as DLC levels after releasing this project if you want as well.

Also, I'm not laughing at you. I admire people making these kind of decisions and I'll support this project.

Thanks man, I just kinda struggle with my decisions sometimes. Also I like to take my time and procrastinate, so this might take a long time to make.
