Hi, does anyone even remember me when I was developing Golf Ball Adventures? Well, I kinda had to cancel its development since I had to factory reset my computer. I am using a gaming PC now and I am working something up with it!

RUKI

About
RUKI is a SMBX project (its not an episode yet, guys!) that I am currently working on. Based on PETA's Super Tanooki Skin 2D (aka Mario Kills Tanooki), the game takes place within a 'sugar bowl' world known as the Sugar Bowl starring Ruki, a skinned-alive tanuki/raccoon dog, on a quest to save the cutesy world from a "sugar apocalypses" caused by an unknown entity.
Unlike STS2D,this game features no references to Mario outside the fact that it is a SMBX project or animal crulety. As such, no gore will be found in the game. However, there will be elements from the endless runner, such as stripes being placed on everything from hills to pipes, will be featured.
I did not plan RUKI to be multiplayer, but let me know if it should!

Screenshots
So far, I do have one screenshot. I tried to make this HQ while showing it in full, but I did take this from the level editor. Please note that Ruki's sprites are glitched when I'm playing it in the level editor (for example, their tail is half-gone in this screenshot), but I'll try to fix that if I can. Also, I don't have custom graphics for everything yet, which is why everything other than the character and the pipes are still Mario sprites.

Credits
Most, if not all, of the graphics are original, but I used music from the Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers Mega Drive bootleg and its sequel.

I'm going to say that I finally fixed Ruki's sprite! I am currently working on a tower level, but there's still more of Ruki I haven't finished! She needs more of her assets replaced, to be honest.

Honestly I don't remember, but it wasn't on this account. I do remember posting a fourm about it though.

So I finished the tower level...kinda. The ? orb isn't hiding like it should, though I tried attaching it to layers and stuff. IDK what is going on, but I decided to leave the tower level as it is until I can find a way to hide it until you beat the boss (I know how to make layers and events and attach them, tho. I just can't make the orb hide!)

I am starting to work on regular levels, though, so there's that. Check it out!

Just a quick update: the first world will have 8 normal levels, 2 castle levels (a tower and a castle like in NSMB), and one secret level.

Hello bois, another update coming.

So, I am thinking about making this two-player compatable, but I'm also thinking about using the tanuki seen in STS2D as a replacement for Luigi. I'll remove blood seen in the design. What do you think?

So I downloaded the setup for SMBX2, but I want to just use the legacy editor to make RUKI. If I plan on a sequel, then I may use the X@ editor.

I'm back! I decided to change the starting area a little bit so it can be the budworld as well. I am thinking that in the relation for the hubworld is that after Ruki finds out something is amiss in the middle of the Sugar Bowl they find a entrance into this hubworld with different paths leading to different parts of the world. However, most of these paths are locked, and Ruki needs to find stars in order to access them.

It has been a while since I have updating anything about RUKI. I want to say that this game is on hiatus for a while. I have school and other projects that I'm tackling at the moment, so this game may not even come out until probably several months or even a few years. Or at least, have the alpha version be released. I'm not just focused on RUKI, I'm also focused on non-SMBX projects such as Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Rush. So...don't expect any (frequent) updates on this game for now, okay?

No, not really. I just shifted attention away from it because I got hooked into Friday Night Funkin' among other things. An alpha build of RUNKI will be made, I just don't know when I'll resume development.
