Plot: After saving the princess, sometimes its nice to kick back, relax and who knows maybe take a day off or two and have yourself a vacation!
You board a small ship to venture out to do some relaxing but unfortunately, something goes wrong! Now you must find a way off a chain of islands and figure a new way back home to the Mushroom Kingdom! Can you make it back in time?

I only gotten a few screenshots so far while I'm awaiting a right moment to do a demo release so far but i will be actively updating a Progress sheet here :
Spoiler: show

World 1 : Spring Garden Islands : 100% Complete
World 2 : Enigmatic Forest & Perplexing Mountains : 60%
World 3 : The Abandoned Gemstone Caverns : 5%
World 4: Sorrowful Swamps : 0%
World 5: Magmatic Mines : 7%
World Star: 50%
World Special : 0%

World Map Completion 87.5% - Subject to change or vary on demo releases

I'll be releasing 4 demos releasing them 1 world at a time with a preview of a the next world.

Demo 1 has launch! It will contain all of World 1, Plus a Transitional level that Segways to World 2, In addition it will also have a few optional levels in the Star World! The World Map is currently designed so it will also only view what levels have been featured in its demo and all future levels will remain hidden until its upcoming release!
Here's a couple screenshots so far of World 1:

Demo 1.1 ~ 1.9 Will be for any hotfix bugs anyone wishes to address that I may have overlooked or missed (I'll be updating Title Thread and a changelog for any bugs that come to my attention!

Demo 2.0 : Huge update planned here and Plan to release all of World 2, the 3rd Star World level and tons more levels to explore!
Are you able to find your way out of both the Enigmatic Forest's Maze and the Perplexing Mountains that seem to lead to nowhere?

Estimated Date for 2.0 : Some time near the end of October probably November (I've been slightly busy juggling some things around)
Download Link : Demo Release 1.0 Download

Always looking for feedback of the demo levels and possible fixes if you've played the Demo!

What does Mario need to get back in time for? Just wondering.

Also I understand why everyone does world 1 first but an idea would be to work on all worlds at the same time and just do whatever great idea comes in your head first. That way your not forcing yourself to do levels you don't yet have ideas for.

I only suggested that because 90% of these projects people start out with world 1 levels and 98% of world 1 themes seem to always be Forrest or grasslands or a combo with water. Think outside the box and make your project more interesting and you will get more people interested.

Your project looks promising and I like the screenshots. Keep up the good work.

I think what you mean was the part where i mentioned "Can you make it back in time" will be referring to a core gimmick in all levels but 2
and that is, you dont get to casually stroll in the levels... There's a timer (timer.lua) if it reachs "0" you lose a life, a concept from SMW is that most levels will give you roughly 300s 400s or 500s depending on the level type. Who knows it might just be a "Speedy" level and only give you 100s! Think you can make it to the exit in time?

I've already gotten World 1 finished, i just need to kink out and re-test a few things make sure lua doesnt crash or a puzzle doesnt break
World 1's Theme kinda jumps from a "Overworld Hills" to a "YI Styled Athletics"

The goal is to make it feel like its one of those SMW Rom-hacks you'd get off SMWC from like 2009 ~ 2010 feeling with that hint of custom stuff that SMW Rom-hacks offer.. The plot as well doesn't have a "Date" at which it takes place more-or-less it'll become quite clear what sorta plot inspiration it takes from once you piece together the clues...

I'll be working on these final 2 issues sometimes tonight/early morning and update a release demo 1 launch time soon once i compile a more screenshots.. All together the demo 1 will have about 13 ~ 15 playable levels out of most likely 60 - 65 levels (give or take)

I do have the entire project and the future of the episode all plotted out on how the levels and worlds as well as how the plot will progress hopefully.

Btw I probably should mention this, but the episode is for SMBX2 Beta 4 Patch 3 (Current Version of X2)

Thats good to hear, as for the final image the goal was to make it seem like an island the blends from SMW Grass to SMW Cave almost seemlessly and while it works, i could probably patch that up here shortly

I am also open for feedback on the project itself for any minor bugs or things that could be patched as well 💖
