[For SMBX2.0 Beta 4]
WHAT IS THIS?
This project is based on the first Super Mario game. All the main levels are inspired on the originals, but they are different! The Princess has been captured by Bowser (again) and it's up to Mario & Luigi to rescue her.
MECHANICS
Playable Characters are Mario & Luigi. They won't be able to spin jump or to grab shells or anything really. Just like the first Super Mario Bros. Each world consists of 6 levels (4 main levels and 2 secret levels accesible after the last castle).
ITEMS & COLLECTABLES
Super Mushroom. Transforms Mario/Luigi into Super Mario/Luigi.
Poison Mushroom. It's dangerous! It hurts you as if it was an enemy.
Fire Flower. Transforms Mario/Luigi into Fire Mario/Luigi.
1-Up Mushroom. Gives you an extra life. Lucky!
Super Star. Makes you invencible for a short period of time.
Coin. Collecting 100 of these will grant you an extra life.
Red Coin. There are 5 of these in each level. Collect them to unlock secret levels later in the game. Some of them are hidden in blocks!
Yoshi's Egg. There's one hidden in an invisible block in each level. There's no purpose on collecting them all. It gives 8000 points to the player.

This update fixes all the bugs with parallax effects, made some changes to some parallax for better readability (mostly in 4-3 and 1-B). I also adjusted the difficulty in 2-4 and 3-4. Lastly, I made some lua changes, most noticeable is the addition of SimpleLaterMovement.lua by MrDoubleA, making all moving platforms smoother.
In this demo worlds 1 - 4 are fully playable. There's also a secret level if you can get 120 Red Coins. (Be sure to talk to Rosalina after getting all the 125 Red Coins!)

Cool stuff, the graphical style used for this project looks unique and stands out from other projects and the aesthetics are good, I especially like the detailed backgrounds, keep it up!

Another hints include the world map icons for the music, one of the screenshots and one of the gifs have 99 lives, I have never saw a 38A project/episode showcase gameplay content in which the player has this specific number of lives, the moving parallax which is hard to do in 38A, you would need good teascript knowledge to draw images, move them like a parallax image, loop them and then add their invididual movement and finally, the lakitu which behaves like the smb1 lakitu found in 2.0 and last but not least, the creator hasn't specified that it is 38A which means, most of the content that I have seen in the forums which end up unspecified are actually being made in 1.3/2.0.

So this "SMBX remake" is a "Remastered" recreation of Super Mario Bros. Deluxe on the Gameboy Color? I've seen a few remakes of SMB1 Deluxe during the 5 year, approximately 7 month period I've been in the SMBX community... Just spare me the details and let me give my support. ^^"

just did a casual playthrough on it, the aesthethics are great, and of course its also fun to play, though the desert sky is black, and the Mushroom level in world 4 has some problems since background mushrooms are easily confused with blocks, and I died a few times because of that, and I think 2-Castle is a biit to hard, I know its SMB1 but its still world 2

I'm aware that some parallax were broken with the patch 2 update, I'm working on a fix right now. I'll also address the other things you mentioned. Thanks for playing the demo!
