Welcome to the Halloween House! This level took a very long time to make so I hope you'll give it a go. It was intended to be done by halloween but stuff changed during development and I ended up going overboard with this one.

This level is probably very different from your normal level. It's more of an adventure I guess you could say. Your goal is to escape the haunted house you've been trapped in. I hope you don't get too spooked. (Although this is smbx it's hard to do that.)

The darkness.lua is being used in this level. If you have a slower pc your fps may stutter (my 4 year old amazon laptop can handle this no problem but just putting this out there). Of course this means that SMBX2 PAL is required for this level.

This level can be played like any other episode without loading up the editor. You can play it in the editor if you prefer however (I'm not your boss). I updated it a few moments ago so it has it's own launcher page. Not necessary but makes it look nice I guess.

I forgot to credit graphics. Oops.
Witchking666' Gfx pack (Version 6.0) was used for this one. Any graphic that's not in there I probably put in myself.

Very small fixes. They're in the spoiler below if you're interested in that kind of thing. If you haven't played the level then avoid looking due to spoilers.

-Fixed a trigger that could be activated more than once in the room you find after placing the book in the bookshelf.
-Minor fixes to blocks.
-Removed an unused soundtrack from the folder to save some space. Don't know why it was in there actually since I never planned on using it to begin with.
Why did I update this level at 3 am?
Update: 11/21/19
-Light will no longer bleed into the walls in the first key room as well as the room where the clue for the second key is.
-Fixed an issue with the shadow monster later in the level where he was sometimes killable.
-Fixed an issue where after finding the second mirror shard you could run past the broken mirror and leave the room.
-The shadow monster will now properly kill the player if he/she hides behind the door where you find the book.
-The player light will no longer leave the player after the gas section.
-The player can leave the room where he/she finds the book immediately now as opposed to waiting a few seconds (a misplaced lua line).
-Removed an exploit in the section with the death wall where the player could use the last instant portal to zip behind the wall.
-Very minor punctuation fixes in text, mainly in "the door has been unlocked" which now has a period every time as opposed to sometimes.
Known Bugs:
-It is possible that one of the friendly npc's you talk to can duplicate itself and begin walking around the room. This is unconfirmed though (I think I fixed that issue). If this happens you can ignore the duplicate npc or talk to it to make it go away. This has no impact on the level if it happens.
-It is possible that an npc portrait can just not be there when talking to the npc. This is also unconfirmed as I believe this issue has been fixed. Just throwing these out there just in case.
-Alt+Tabbing can result in the music in some spots to simply stop. Please refrain from alt+tabbing.

Please report any other bugs you find here.

That's pretty much it. I started this level around mid October and just finished it last night. A lot of hours went into this level so I hope you'll give it a go.

This was really unique! The amount of unique graphics is awesome! Also, your ability to use special effects and lunalua is incredible! I died about 5 times trying to beat this; thanks for the checkpoints lol. I played Gate to Infinity, and your characters were charming and well acted out. You wouldn't happen to be making an entire episode with Osha and Peanut having an epic story, would you?

You can thank Enjl for a little bit of the scripting here, mainly the tilty part (I'm too stupid to come up with that myself). I'm happy you enjoyed this though, it took ages to make. As for you episode question, I'm not in liberty of saying yet. I don't like to say I am then something come up down the road that prevents me from doing that.

There may be a bug where certain doors won't work. Warps in this level use the "two-way warp" tickbox and apparently there was an odd bug when eclipsed gave this level a go where a door wouldn't work. If this happens to you please let me know so I can fix this. Thanks.

I really liked this level And the use of luna lua in it was pretty amazing. It actually did feel kinda unsettling and creepy at some parts like the gas maze and the hellish mirror dimension near the end of the level. Its pretty well done. An issue I have had with the level is that you are able to accidentally kill one of portals with oshawott's attack in the mirror dimension. It happened to me a couple of times when I wanted to run.

I haven't been able to look at this because thanksgiving and all but I'm happy you enjoyed this level. Also thank you for your bug report with the destroyable portals. I must have forgotten to tick most of them as friendly. Any future downloads will include this fix.

Like electriking said smbx 2 PAL. This level uses the darkness.lua which isn't available in the beta 3 version. The level quite possibly also relies on other stuff on PAL that's not present in beta 3. Apologies for the inconvenience but appreciate your interest in this lame level all the same.

I gotta say, this was REALLY cool. I was randomly looking for halloween related stuff for someone and found this, and I'm glad I did! The use of Pokemon as the main characters is fun, the haunted house looks really nice, the monsters are really creepy (that's a good thing in this case), etc. Good job on this! 9/10.

I'm a tad late but thanks for giving it a go. If you played this is a recent editor you might have noticed some light sources looked like they had bloom on 1000. Pal version did light a bit different lol.

Tbh I was working on an episode with osha and peanut but real life got in the way and its been bothering me. Maybe one of these days ill get to finish it.

Ayo if that's the case, check every light source and tick Additive Brightness off. This should remove the supposed light bloom effect.
