it's literally 5 seconds of gameplay. why are you complaining about something that will be on screen for just 5 seconds? why don't you talk about the design of the level instead?
Because that is part of the design of the level, and I think the beginning part could be improved to better introduce people to what the level is about.

How does adding slopes show what the level is about?
If you can't go 5 blocks without having a slope, you should see a doctor.

My point is that the beginning part looks bland, and it might turn off people who just started the level, so I think it should be changed.

That's the equivalent to judging a book by its cover and the people who do that won't provide useful criticism anyway, proven by the fact they let their first impression of a level influence their overall perception way too much.
Don't get me wrong. There are horrible ways to make an intro screen, but usually those are screens where the player gets ambushed. Not screens which just kinda exists and are "bland".

I never cared about the first screen, what matters for me is if the level is fun to play.

It's literally evil cellar. I posted it because of the ongoing discussion about flat levels.

Enough slopes for you? Or are the question mark blocks too flat?

That looks very neat! Do the concrete blocks do anything special aside from being there?
From what I see when I place them down they vanish and act like an invisible yet solid block

I still do belive the beginning area in the level is pretty bland compared to the rest of the level, and it's something that could easily be fixed by making the area a little less flat. Also, about the general level, it looks pretty good, but the BGO wooden gfx looks like a foreground object, which could be kinda off-putting.

Nice. Based off the Super Mario Bros Deluxe world map?

Amazing! Cool graphics. Did you make them yourselves?
But it clashes a little
