Awesome Cave Level review
Design & Gameplay: 5/10 (counts 70%)
First off, the difficulty is okay, it's not random, it's fair and the powerup vs. enemy ratio isn't unfair either. The star is hidden decently, it's not obvious but not overhidden yet. The donut blocks and generating platforms are nice to see as gimmicks, they add some extra value for the level. (true, the donut block is really common gimmick)
The fun factor is above average but the level doesn't have too much replay value. The secret exit could've been a bit more hidden but it's still not a big problem.
The NPCs are sparse in the level, you should place more of them. The coin placement is bad, you should place coins in more groups with smaller amount. (two to six coins per group and one or two groups per screen) The level is short too. (that's why I don't judge the no checkpoint bc this level is short enough to don't have CP)
Atmosphere & Visuals: 4.5/10 (counts 30%)
The music fits in the level right, no complaints about it.
The different styles clashed a bit but it's still acceptable in this level's case. The atmospheric feeling is around average.
Blue NSMB rocks don't really match with the SMW cave background, bc the shading and colors. The level lacked of BGOs. Also, around the secret exit's entrance, it's not necessary to have waterfall BGOs behind the walls if there is no waterfall above the rocks.
Score: 4.9/10
