Galoomba Plains

Postby Mable » Sun May 25, 2014 2:36 pm

Okay this is another level i created together with my SMB1 Level.

Yay for my second level after 2009 :D

The Name can be wrong since somehow those are reffered as Goombobs, Galoomba and even Google told me it is Galoomba somehow but that shouldn't matter much since it's only a name for a level so f that.

This time i attempt at a SMW Level it features Custom Music from the SMW Custom Music Playlist. After i finally got the fireball working and found the death effect from mario in the giant pack of graphics i can finally release this.
Now it's time for you. This time again i wanna hear your opinions on this like on my last level because after this i may try making a Zelda Level because Link seriously needs more levels imo. So yeah let's go:
Oh before i show screens the level is on lime grass and you travel trough the cave to go further and stuff i even added background objects into the cave.
Scrennfuck(because people complained about screenshit)

WARNING: THIS CONTAINS THINGS THAT MAY BE OFFENSIVE FOR YOU

Galoomba Plains by GrastelBuncher

Atmosphere 9/10: The level’s atmosphere was really good. Most of the GFXs fit and I didn’t have any problem with them. I did saw this giant rock rolling in the underground section, which quite didn’t fit to the level. The music you used was okay, but the tileset could’ve been decorated with some grass inside it.

Gameplay 6/10: The level took place inside over ground and under the ground, which I liked, but the level didn’t have any elements or anything like that. The NPC Placement was a bit lacking, but good. IMO you could’ve made the level a bit puzzle-ish. That’d made the level more fun and enjoyable. I did like the addition of the bonus room and the switch block though.

Level Design 6/10: This level was honestly really linear. It did switch from underground to overworld, but it barley have any challenges or anything like that. It did have a downwards section though, which I really enjoyed.

So overall I’m giving ya 7/10 on this level. You should really fix the stuff that I mentioned in this review.

Zlaker, aren't SMW's levels linear like that?
