40th LEVEL Review of Cliffside Crushdown by ShadowStarX spinda failed the challenge to review this one OH WELL
This level started in some SMB3 styled grassland themed section. It seems like it's good fit for world 2 in your project (am I right? NO). The level design looks pretty fun, but there's some one-screen places (you know what I mean), which they cointain...eh...CONTAIN coins (also coin blocks), so they look pointless for some reason, they wouldn't be so pointless if they cointain a powerup block there (oh yeah...powerup block.. 8-) ). The use of events looked good, but I've saw the things in section 4, where the grassland tiles and pipes move up and down in the mid-air...UP and DOWN IN THE MID-AIR...looks weird, isn't it? Oh, also the pipe shoots YTP quality bombs, which is pointless- no, no, these things in that screen are just pointless, because of their placement. The switch blocks in the first section are not necessery, it just makes the gameplay longer, which is enough. Well, the rest is good, SO GOOD. :)
Okay, let's talk about placement. The NPC variety is okay, nothing wrong with it. The amount of coins is a bit high (LESS THAN 125 SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO GET AN EXTRA LIFE :D ). Now about gameplay, the length wasn't short and not long, but it still didn't interest me and it was a bit easy for me, how, you may ask? Well, for having gameplay skillz, and other thing - there's 6 power-ups in this level, which can make the player easier to beat level (but usually world 2 first levels are, am I right? no).
Okay, the review is done. AND OVERALL FOR THIS LEVEL IS...

7.8/10
Some of those flaws that you mentioned made no sense to me lol. Also Nintendo used grass blocks that moved up and down before so that's nothing new. Also I thought the coins were placed fairly well although there could have been less of them. I did have a problem with some of the bomb placements though. Not all of them were that bad though. It would only be pointless if it served no purpose in his level, but since it was used as an obstacle in his level, it wasn't exactly pointless. Were the bomb projectiles fitting? Probably not, but they did serve a purpose. Also with the abundance of pipes, I kind of expected there to be a few secrets here and there, but I didn't come across any. I only came across a few branching paths. I probably would have given him an 8.3 personally, but your score was pretty fair.
