Here's my review for Sepulchral Sawblade Cemetery, from the contest:
Sepulchral Sawblade Cemetery - 9.35/10
This level is just marvellous to look through, and marvellous to play. Every single part of this level was greatly decorated, and the atmosphere brought through the ghostliness of the level, combined with the forest, both pulled off extremely well, making this look like a reghrhre level. This level was very nonlinear and the special gimmicks that this level brought through with it are outstanding and unique, such as the blackouts in section 3 and the double-sided spiky blocks that flip on occasion. Each puzzle brought through with it its own special integrity, making the level very interesting and not repetitive, and collecting all the green coins was interesting but there's no way to know when the barrier's been deactivated unless the player goes back by themselves, and some of the NPCs seem misplaced. There is one part in this level when in order to hit a block this gets a player inevitably hit by either a Boo or a Volcano Lotus fireball, and the Grinder spinjumping challenge is tricky because the player is expected to nail it perfectly and recovery is tricky due to the size of the Muncher pit. However it's fair to say that the pros outweigh the cons here, and I won't be surprised if this ends up in the higher tier.

My favorite level from CC7. I loved the atmosphere despite of the start of the music sounding like that cliche cinematic panic music. But the design in this was just wonderful. Excellent job with this.

Yes, this is a late reply, but thanks everybody for your comments on my level. Kyo: I didn't think the start of the music would be link that, but regardless I am glad to hear that you enjoyed this level.

I've played this level before, but I just saw it now and I felt like playing it again so I did. And I really think this is a great level. One of my favorites from the contest it was in. Great job with it!

I know people will extremely hate me, but i didn't like this level,.it's not challenging and it's easy, the black color isn't pleasing because there isn's any other color exept the player and the smw star ones.
here, this is my opinion, shoot me.

I wouldn't say an easy level isn't good, but at least you don't seem to ben one of those who say "Hard levels are bad!". The color is one aspect of this level's special visual appeal, though.

I thought I was the only one who did not like this level, it is clear that the level has quality, but I think it's very simple, do not think he deserved the note received, IMO.

Definitely agree. It's way too low-ranked.

On the contrary, I actually appreciate your criticism, and will take everything into account to improve as a level designer. Not everybody likes one-color levels, that is understandable. But as Kyo pointed out, the purpose of the recolor is to enhance the atmosphere of the level to a degree that I'm satisfied with. I also disagree with what you said about the difficulty. I, as well as a few of the judges, found some areas to be somewhat challenging. I never thought anybody would consider it easy. Furthermore, it isn't wise to submit difficult levels to contests considering that the difficulty could be the very thing that causes the judges to bring down the score.

What aspect of the level do you mean by simple? The design, graphics, gimmicks, etc.

Aside from all other remarks, there is one thing about this level that I feel like I could have improved on. I think the stars aren't hidden that well and I will try to improve on that in the future, as well as the other things mentioned.
